Torrent Pharma net down 69%

Pharma company Torrent Pharmaceuticals Limited’s net profit of Rs 15 crore has gone down by 69 per cent from Rs 49 crore, courtesy MAT credit entitlement, according to its financial results for the quarter (Q1) ended June 30, 2009.

IT training solutions provider NIIT Limited posted a 42 per cent fall in profit after tax (PAT) for the first quarter ended June 30. PAT for the quarter stood at Rs 9.9 crore compared with Rs 17 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago. The company’s global system-wide revenues were flat at Rs 368.8 crore. They were Rs 366.4 crore in the year-ago period.

Lanco Infra Q1 net up 96%

Construction and infrastructure company Lanco Infratech Limited reported a net profit of Rs 115.8 crore for the quarter ended June 2009, as against Rs 59.1 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, registering a growth of 95.93 per cent. Revenues grew 140.22 per cent to Rs 2,195.4 crore, as compared with Rs 913.9 crore during the same period last year.
