Torrent Power to supply power under Kanpur Electricity

Torrent Power has become the Distribution Franchisee for supplying power in urban areas under the Kanpur Electricity Supply Company.
The company informed the stock exchanges that it has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) in this regard from the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation. The supply is for a period of 20 years.
The Ahmedabad based company had emerged as the highest bidder for the franchise system proposed for Kanpur, with a bid of Rs 2.17 per unit.
Torrent Power supplies power in the Bhiwandi region of Maharashtra, as it was chosen by Mahrashtra State Electricity Board as distrbution franchisee two years ago.
