Transcend's JetFlash T5 flash drive wins Japan's Good Design Award
Announcement / Corporate Oct 13, 2009, 21:12 IST

Transcend Information, Inc. (Transcend), a worldwide leader in storage and multimedia products, is proud to announce that its JetFlash T5 USB flash drive has been awarded the prestigious "G-Mark" distinction for excellent design quality at the 2009 Good Design Award competition. The award-winning JetFlash T5 drive has a unique ultra-tiny casing with a retractable USB connector, and comes in eye-catching two-tone color schemes that make a lasting impression.

Mr. Austin Huang, Regional Head - Sales, SAARC & APAC, Transcend, said, “Transcend has always come out with products which are not only technologically advanced & user friendly but are also high on fashion quotient & style. The honor bestowed upon the JetFlash T5 USB flash drive at the Good Design Awards 2009, comes as an appreciation of the efforts we put in to pay utmost importance to the aesthetic details of every product that we manufacture. ”

Conducted annually since 1957 by the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization (JIDPO), the Good Design evaluation and commendation system bestows upon its winners a globally respected reputation for producing high quality products with innovative original designs. The JIDPO judging panel was particularly impressed with Transcend’s JetFlash T5, stating that “the T5 drive’s rugged housing and retractable USB connector protect data inside from harmful external factors, and also provide users a feeling of security."

Measuring just 29.9mm x 15.3mm x 6.1mm (L x W x D), the JetFlash T5 is incredibly compact, and only weighs a mere 2g. Its retractable connector design and color schemes not only make the drive easier to handle and use, but also give it a unique fashion accessory look. With its convenient attachment loop, the ultra-light JetFlash T5 can be used as a mobile phone dongle or a keychain fob, making it easy to carry and store in places where ordinary flash drives just do not fit. The JetFlash T5 is now available in 2GB (Orange/Black), 4GB (White/Black) and 8GB (Red/Black) capacities.
