Consumer appliances and healthcare firm TTK Prestige is setting up a new manufacturing unit at Roorkee in Uttarakhand for manufacturing of kitchen electrical appliances and stoves. With a proposed investment of Rs 11 crore, the plant is expected to be operational in the fourth quarter of the current fiscal.
This will be the seventh manufacturing facility of the Bangalore-based company. The Roorkee plant will manufacture kitchen stoves, mixies and rice cookers. The company has also announced that it is currently working on new product lines taking into account the increased use of non-conventional heat sources.
Meanwhile, TTK has developed a high-tech steriliser to be used by the medical professionals. The product has been developed using the pressure cooker technology, and would be launched after obtaining approval from the US Food and Drugs Administration. In India, the company will market the product through TTK Healthcare.
