TVS Motor sales up 6% in June

TVS Motor Company has reported a six per cent growth in two wheeler sales for the month of June 2009 which stood at 115,488 units against 109,082 units in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Domestic sales of the company registered a growth of 12 per cent to 1,05,361 units in June 2009 as against 94,072 in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Scooters sales increased by 21 per cent to 25,945 units from 21,466 units in the corresponding period of the previous year. Total motorcycle sales of the company stood at 46,048 units in June 2009 when compared to 51,409 units recorded in June 2008.

Exports dropped by 32 per cent to 10,087 units in June 2009 from 15,010 units in the corresponding period of the previous year.

During the month, the company added two new motorcycles to its portfolio with the Apache RTR 180 in the premium segment and the 2009 model of TVS Flame, under the brand name TVS Flame SR 125 in the executive segment.
