Students unhappy with their scores in the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2009 plan to move the Supreme Court. The move comes at a time when over 150 B-schools, including the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), have closed their admissions for the academic year 2010-12.
“We are fighting for all the aggrieved candidates and also for accountability and transparency and we shall continue with it post the admissions. We don’t want it to be a problem for the students who have secured admissions,” said a student who is looking at filing the appeal.
The students said the IIMs have denied them information through Right to Information (RTI) act and that they have complained to the Central Information Commission (CIC) against the same.
“Only CIC can ensure correct answers to our queries considering IIMs have not responded properly to our RTI queries,” another student added.
The students say they would want a transparent and accountable process to be in place so that students don’t suffer in CAT 2010. “We are also in the process of appealing to others B-school to considering taking scores of other exams which are more transparent,” the student added.
