In the year before that (2007-08), the company had sold about 10 million sq ft in the whole of the year, informed a company spokesperson.

In an operational update posted in its website, the company said that it sold 8.16 million sq ft in the residential segment and 1.95 million sq ft in the non-residential segment in the six months period of April-to-September worth Rs 3,913 crore.

The average sale price in the residential segment this year has however declined to Rs 3,234 per sq ft compared to about Rs 4,000 per sq ft last year.

“This is due to our shift towards affordable housing,” explained the spokesperson. The average sale price in the residential segement — at Rs 6,533 per sq ft — is about the same as it was last year, he added.

The company said that it has 60 ongoing projects across 10 cities. About 32 million sq ft is to be handed over in the next three years. To expedite delivery of projects, the company has ramped up workforce at its sites by more than 300 per cent in the last six months, it said.
