Unitech up 3.5% on Telenor deal

Unitech finally ended 3.5% higher at Rs 73.30. More than 36 million shares were traded at the counter in the BSE today.

The stock today opened at Rs 72. It slipped to a low of Rs 68 and touched a high of Rs 78, up 14% form the day's low. Unitech is currently trading at Rs 73, up 3%.The stock has clocked a heavy volume of 22 million shares as aginst the two-week daily average of 20 million on the BSE.

According to a release issued by the Unitech to the BSE, the company on May 19, 2009 received an amount of Rs 1,130 crores (approx) in aggregate from Telenor Asia for acquisition of further 15.5% stake in Unitech Wireless by issuing fresh shares. Earlier in the Phase I of the deal, Unitech had received Rs 1,250 crore for 33.5% stake.
