Unitech reported a whopping 449.77 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 35.46 crore for the quarter ended March 2006 from Rs 6.45 crore in the corresponding period last year. Net sales increased to Rs 208.05 crore from Rs 119.63 crore, up 73.91 per cent.
The net profit for the financial year ended March 2006 jumped 151.87 per cent to Rs 87.65 crore from Rs 34.8 crore in 2004-05. The net sales in the period rose 43.39 per cent to Rs 892.81 crore from Rs 622.63 crore.
Orient PBT rises 60%
Orient Ceramics, which makes ceramic glazed wall and floor tiles, reported 60 per cent increase in profit before tax to Rs 7.35 crore for for the financial year ended March 2006 over Rs 4.58 crore in the previous year.
