Unity Infraprojects bags the prestigious order to re-develop R N Cooper Hospital

Unity Infraprojects Ltd., (BSE: 532746), one of India’s major civil contracting firms, has bagged a Rs. 265.39 crores project from MCGM to re-develop the 520 bed R N Cooper Hospital. This hospital provides healthcare facilities to the people staying in western suburbs. The dilapidated condition of the hospital gave rise to the need for re-development. The project needs to be completed in 36 months.

After its complete re-construction, R N Cooper hospital will have state of the art features associated with green buildings and will be among the most modern MCGM run hospitals.

With this order, the healthcare portfolio of Unity Infraprojects has grown further and the company continues to build it up. In the past also the company has executed healthcare projects in Kathmandu, Shillong, Goa, Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Presently it is in the process of executing a prestigious order in Hyderabad under the PMSSY (Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana).

With the addition of this order, Unity’s order book has crossed Rs.3450 crore. The company added new order aggregating Rs. 1337 crores in the current fiscal.

Commenting on the order, Mr. Abhijit K. Avarsekar, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Unity Infraprojects Ltd. said, “It is a matter of honour for us to be chosen by MCGM to redevelop the R N Cooper hospital. This hospital is a landmark healthcare facility in the western suburbs; we will take utmost care to deliver the best. ”

Last month, the company did exceedingly well in the water supply sector having bagged two contracts aggregating to Rs 945.76 crores from Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM). The first order awarded was of Rs. 670.76 cr for the supply, installation and maintenance of AMR water meters for the Eastern and Western Suburbs of Mumbai. The Second order, valued at Rs. 325 cr was for replacement of existing riveted Tansa mains from Tansa to Tarali.
