Virendra Singh Rawat / New Delhi/ Lucknow Aug 18, 2010, 00:52 IST

The Uttar Pradesh government has projected revenue surplus of Rs 554 crore during the current financial year, although the Plan and non-Plan revenue expenditure is estimated to rise to Rs 111,066 crore.

The total plan and non-plan revenue receipts is estimated at Rs 111,620 crore.

However, the revenue surplus of Rs 554 crore is less than the surplus of Rs 1,987 crore estimated for 2009-10.

The 2010-11 Income and Expenditure Account of the state government was recently tabled in the monsoon session of the Assembly.

Major heads under which the revenue expenditure has been hiked include departments such as education, sports, medical, rural development, justice, police, PWD, pension, etc.

However, revenue expenditure under cooperatives head has witnessed a fall in outlay, besides sundry departments.

According to the financial document, the jump of Rs 14,930 crore in revenue expenditure during 2010-11 would be more than 15 per cent against the revised estimates of Rs 96,136 crore for 2009-10.

For 2010-11, the plan and non-plan expenditure heads comprise Rs 22,807 crore and Rs 88,259 crore respectively.

The government has estimated to spend Rs 41,217 crore on salaries, Rs 12,856 crore on pension and Rs 13,492 on interest till March 2011.

Meanwhile, the total revenue and capital expenditure would stand at Rs 1,53,199 crore against total receipts of Rs 1,51,179 crore reflecting a deficit of 2,020 crore.
