US stocks slipped on Wednesday after a surprising reduction in an index of Midwest business activity, but buying of technology bellwethers like Cisco Systems at the end of a strong quarter however limited the losses.
The Dow Jones industrial average slipped 30 points (0.31%) to 9,712. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed two points to 2,122.42.
The Indian ADRs ended on a positive note.ICICI Bank zoomed 6% to $38.56. HDFC Bank advanced 3% to $118.37. Wipro and Tata Communications added over 2.5% each to $17.95 and $20.62, respectively.
Sterlite, Tata Motors and Dr Reddys were up over 1% each.
On the other hand Mahindra Satyam was down 1% at $6.58 and Genpact was marginally down at $12.3, respectively.
