US markets slipped on Friday as lower earnings from industralised companies weighed on the market sentiment despite robust growth by technology firms.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average index declined below the 10,000-mark to end at 9,972, down 109 points. The Nasdaq was down 11 points at 2,154.
