Valimo, the global market leader in mobile ID solutions, today announced the global re-seller agreement with Gemalto, the world leader in digital security. Valimo has been selected by Gemalto as its preferred partner for mobile identity and mobile signing solutions. The two companies will provide a convenient and secure mobile authentication technology for all mobile network operators and financial institutions worldwide. The joint out-of-the-box offering is instantly available to customers around the globe.

Valimo Mobile ID can be used in any service requiring strong personal authentication, secure identification or a legally binding signature such as financial services, eCitizen services, web X.0 on-line services and enterprise solutions. Valimo mobile signature can be used with all mobile phones and devices with a SIM card inside. The resulting safe and reliable digital authentication replaces various tokens, passwords and code lists. When using an online service requiring authentication or digital signing, the request is sent to the user’s mobile phone using secured SMS technology. The message pops up on the phone screen, asking the user to confirm his or her identity or approval by entering a PIN code generated and known by the user only. If the device is lost or stolen, the services utilizing mobile ID and signature cannot be accessed without re-entering this PIN.
