"The strike is over now. Every thing is back to normal. Only parts of the operations were affected due to strike initiated by workers on Tuesday," KCM spokesman Rahur Kharkar told PTI over phone from Zambia.
The damage and losses at KCM, which plans to produce over three lakh tonnes of copper in 2009, due to the strike will be ascertained later, the official said.
The workers had resorted to similar strike during wage negotiation at KCM in 2008.
Vedanta Resources had in May said that it will cut 1,300 jobs at KCM, taking up the total redundancies to 2,000, at the firm. The announcement had reportedly led to friction between the management and labourers at the company.
