Veta to set up 15 spoken English training centres in Gujarat

Veta, a spoken English training academy owned by Amoha Education (P) Ltd., is planning to set up 100 training centres this fiscal which will include 15 centres for Gujarat. Veta, which currently churns out 150,000 students per annum aims to train 1 million students in the next five years.

"Gujarat is the most vibrant in commercial activities and Gujaratis need to travel across the world to market their products. We currently have six centres in Gujarat and plan to add 15 more this fiscal, of which three will be company owned and the rest franchisees. As for the expansion plans across the country, each of the 100 centres will be established with an investment of Rs 20 to 30 lakhs depending on the location, city and rental advance. The 100 centres will include 20 owned and 80 franchisee centres," said major KV Rajan, executive director, Veta.

The company is also planning overseas expansion by foraying into South East Asian countries and upgrading its existing centres in Singapore, Sri Lanka and Malaysia.

"With a total investment of Rs 22 crore for the expansion, Amoha Education (P) Ltd. will invest Rs six crore and the remaining Rs 16 crore will be invested by the franchisees. Veta not only is making planned inroads in India, but is also developing the existing centers in Singapore, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. Veta also plans to extensively foray into the other South East Asian countries. The expansion at these centres will be through master franchisee route. The master franchisees are trained in Singapore and the support staff is trained in their respective countries," Rajan said.

Founded in 1981 as Vivekananda Institute, the academy, now known as Veta has 250 training centres in over 140 cities. The academy has trained 2.2 million studentstill date.
