Violence in Mysore claims 3 lives

Three persons were killed in violent incidents in Udayagiri police station limits of Mysore as Kyathamaranahalli and the surrounding areas witnessed some violent incidents.

Police opened fire in the air, And lobbed tear gas shells and resorted to lathi-charge to quell the violent mobs that looted houses and attacked people.

Ten persons were injured in the incidents. Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Cr PC have been imposed in the limits of Udayagiri, Narasimharaja and Mandi police station limits. It will be in force until July 5.

The police said the situation was under co\ntrol. However, tension prevailed in the area with sporadic incidents. Contingents of Karnataka

State Reserve Police (KSRP), Rapid Action Force and ‘Vajra’ units are deployed to control the situation.
