Vraksh Education brings Creativity in Early Childhood Learning
Announcement / Economy Jun 28, 2010, 19:35 IST

Vraksh Education’s globally acclaimed early childhood development program opens doors for Young Minds to innovative learning.

Today’s education suffers commonly from the time lag between what is known and what is practiced. To bridge this gap and successfully cater to an individual’s innate urge to create, experiment, explore and discover, ‘Vraksh Education’ launches a unique enrichment program for the young minds called as ‘Expanding Minds Program’.

An initiative of Patni Enterprise, Vraksh Education will focus on the subject of Early Childhood Development, a key aspect of overall development that is often overlooked. Designed for a period of two weeks, the after school program starting from July 6 will promote learning through an array of subjects and activities for children between the age of 5 and 9 years.

A curriculum designed by a team of experts from the US based prestigious Eliot Pearson Department at Tufts University; EMP will encourage children to delve into varied range of activities and subjects such as engineering, dramatic play, creative writing and much more. The program will be conducted by faculty associated with two of the most internationally acclaimed universities—Northwestern University and Tufts University.

Speaking on EMP initiatives, Vasundhara Patni, director of Vraksh Education said, “Vraksh Education believes in bringing real life connections into classrooms, to help children relate to factual information and to help enhance their concept formation. At EMP, children will be taught to explore interdisciplinary themes, make ‘out-of-the-box’ connections and express their understanding of these areas creatively using combinations of their many faculties.”

“Our objective is to encourage students’ in independent problem solving, help them face academic challenges and promote divergent thinking in their formative years. The program will also encourage the development of their thinking skills through an interactive curriculum,” added Ms. Patni.

Adding to the learning process, Vraksh Education’s EMP also believes in educating the parents about their children’s progress. The after school EMP will try to keep parents abreast about an overall development of their children. An e-newsletter will be shared with the parents, providing them a brief on the activities conducted during the course of period. “Not just for the children, but EMP will also try to bring the parents in the mainstream with respect to their child’s overall development. It would help the parents understand the social, emotional and cognitive competence of their children,” explains Ms. Patni.
