Anamika Khanna is headed for the London Fashion Week (LFW). She’s in her third season there too. “The whole situation there is very different from India,” she says.
“Firstly, there’s intense competition; you really need at least a couple of seasons to sustain yourself. I’ve been relatively lucky, and my shows have got a positive response.”
No empty boast, that. Khanna sells in 40 international stores, including Harrods and several boutique stores in London. But she still manages to keep quite a low profile at home.
“I think LFW does a better job of promoting edgy fashion than IFW, which is a great place to meet buyers and do business. The only big difference between Delhi and London is that in London, buyers have their budgets ready.”
Khanna has a business tie-up with London’s Boho to take care of her retail and marketing expenses. Also at LFW would be Manish Arora, who is in his second season in London, other than Ashish Soni and Rajesh Pratap Singh.
