Announcement / Corporate Jun 01, 2009, 20:23 IST

Arif A Siddiqui, the winner of "Meet the Stars and Lead the Toss" contest led the captains to the toss and watched DLF IPL II match live.

28 year old Arif A Siddiqui from New Delhi, winner of Yatra.com’s ‘Meet the stars and Lead the Toss’ contest returned to New Delhi  with unforgettable and priceless memories about his personal experience of meeting the Delhi Daredevils team in South Africa and leading the captains in the toss. Yatra.com, the official travel partner for the Delhi Daredevils in the IPL Season 2 ran this contest for the Delhi Daredevil fans & its customers. Yatra.com with this initiative gave everyone an opportunity to live their dreams of flying to South Africa to meet the star players of Delhi Daredevils.

In keeping with the company’s mantra of going above and beyond for their customers, Arif lived the moment for every cricket fan around the world by leading and walking the captains to the middle of the pitch for the all important toss.

Speaking on his invigorating experience, Arif A Siddiqui, said, “I would like to thank Yatra.com for sending me to South Africa. I had never thought of being at South Africa ever, that too for leading the toss. It was one of the most memorable experiences which cricket fans dream of.”

He further added, “The support of the Yatra Team in arranging my trip was overwhelming. Be it visa assistance or flight ticket booking, hotel reservations or transfers, I did not have to worry of anything at all, courtesy the prompt team of Yatra. It was a wonderful and truly  one of a kind experience and the credit goes to the Yatra.com team.”

Besides this offer, Yatra.com offered hundreds of free tickets for the matches, free membership to the Daredevils’ Members club, autographed Delhi  Daredevil t-shirts, and gift hampers during this year’s IPL.

Yatra.com’s continued effort to be associated with the world of sport has seen success this year with a strategic tie up with the Delhi Daredevils team. In the past, it had offered innovative and exquisite holiday packages and entry passes for F1 Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix 08. These packages were exclusively designed and tailor made for the Grand Prix enthusiasts in India. The tie up with the Delhi Daredevils team of the IPL is Yatra.com’s first foray into the world of cricket. Given the craze and passion Indians share for the sport of cricket and given Yatra.com’s track record, the company has lived up to the expectations which cricket enthusiasts have had from this fruitful partnership.
