Wipro increases focus on engineering design service

Bangalore-headquartered consumer care to IT major, Wipro, is all set to strengthen its engineering design and services (EDS) practice with the joining of Dr T S Krishnamurthy, former senior vice president - integrated engineering services of Satyam, as head of EDS.
A former Isro scientist Krishnamurthy (known as TSK in his circle) was instrumental in the success of Satyam’s engineering services vertical during the hay days of the company. Wipro entered the EDS business with the acquisition of Quantech in 2006.
Meanwhile, Wipro has also announced a new vertical focusing exclusively on healthcare services sector. Rajiv Shah, who was earlier heading Wipro’s technology business unit, will now head the new vertical.
