Withdrawal of Central paramilitary from J&K anti-national: BJP
Press Trust of India / New Delhi Jul 14, 2009, 13:48 IST

BJP today today termed the withdrawal of Central paramilitary forces from some sensitive areas of Jammu and Kashmir as "anti-national", saying it will raise the issue in Parliament at an appropriate time.

The BJP Parliamentary Party believes the withdrawal of Central paramilitary forces from these areas is anti-national and has decided to raise the issue in Parliament at an appropriate time during the on-going session, BJP MP M Venkaiah Naidu said.

Some local leaders of the party from Jammu and Kashmir attended today's meeting and gave a presentation on the ground situation in sensitive areas of the state.

Naidu and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley spoke on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and how withdrawal of paramilitary forces would endanger the lives of locals and imperil security in the region.

The prevailing drought situation caused by delay in monsoon and government's failure to tackle the crisis was also brought up for discussion by some BJP MPs.
