Won't share data with Essar: AGC Networks to clients
Press Trust of India / New Delhi Jun 22, 2010, 21:54 IST

Solutions provider AGC Networks today assured its BPO clients that it will maintain complete data confidentiality and that its new owner, Aegis BPO of the Essar Group, will not have access to the same.

"We ensure complete confidentiality of customer information and the technology deployed. Post-acquisition (by Essar Group) too, we would ensure that quality of service and customer information is not compromised," AGC Networks Managing Director Anil Nair said.

AGC Networks provides call centre solutions to about 1,200 clients in India and abroad. After the Essar group had announced acquisition of a 59 per cent stake in the company from the US-based Avaya Group in May, AGC Networks' BPO clients had expressed apprehensions about their data safety.

They were concerned whether Aegis BPO would have access to vital and confidential information with AGC Networks, as both have a common parent company, Essar Services Holding.

"We have proactively met all our clients on a one-on-one basis to assure them that there would be no lack in consistency of services," Nair said.

Having purchased a 59 per cent stake in AGC Networks for Rs 206.19 crore, Essar Services Holdings will soon make a mandatory open offer for purchase of an additional 20 per cent stake from AGC shareholders.
