Online travel services provider Yatra.com said in a press release isuued today that it has tied up with Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporatin Ltd (IRCTC) for providing train bookings on its website, www.yatra.com.
IRCTC has provided the reservation backend while the booking site has been created by Yatra.com, the release said.
Under this service, users can view all available trains, timings, fares and seat availability for 5 days on a single screen, in addition to be book and cancel online. Tatkal seats and senior citizen quotas too are available for booking.
Speaking about the launch, Dhruv Shringi, Co-founder and CEO, Yatra.com, said, “Travel by Indian Railways is the single largest and most economical mode of public transport in India, with over 1.2 million travellers booking and travelling through 7,000 passenger trains daily."
Other travel portals such as Cleartrip.com are already providing online bookings on Indian Railways.
Whether online rail tickets can booked through ATM card,if so what is the procedure.

i had already booked my tickets but before finishing the procedure it showed that time for reservation is finished what should i do and the money transaction had already finished

we 13 persons Bangalore go serade sai baba(MH) on 24/12/2009.by train II calss 26/12/2009.shanisigapur,nasick and pune.28/12/209 retanback to Bangalore.whatn fare per person.
Really it's a good initiative by yatra. But the response is very slow. IRCTC already responds very slow and again searching the same through yatra has made it slower.
Anyways, good start and hope the things to be much smoother with time.
Navigation and interface is very nice and easy to use.
