Gurgaon-based Yatra.com, one of the leading online travel companies in India, has plans to open 100 luxury lounges throughout the country with an investment of around Rs 18-20 crore by 2008.
Out of the 100 luxury lounges, 70 would be managed by franchise while the rest will be company-owned. Dhruv Shringi, co-founder and CEO, yatra.com, revealed this while announcing the opening of a holiday lounge in Chandigarh today.
The longue would be a one-stop shop providing leisurely ambience to customers handling travel from international to domestic flights, hotels, hiring cars and holiday packages.
Commenting upon the northern market, he said that with 12-13 percent of the total online travel business that comes from the north, the company decided to foray into the region by opening their luxury lounge at Chandigarh.
Shringi revealed that soon two more luxury lounges in Jalandhar and Ludhiana will also be opened.
