In an effort to strengthen viewership and distribution for the channel, Zee Sports has signed an exclusive deal with the Indian Tennis Federation (ITF) to showcase Davis Cup and Federation Cup.
“The agreement is of strategic importance to Zee Sports.This will help us not only push the distribution for the channel but also allow the network to package and produce the programming in its own style,” said Gary Lovejoy, chief operating officer of Zee Sports.
As a part of the deal, Zee Sports will broadcast the World Group 2005 Davis Cup semifinal, starting September 23-25 between Slovak Republic vs Argentina and Croatia vs Russia.
The channel will also showcase over 100 Women Tennis Association (WTA) events for this year.
