Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEEL) has posted a net profit of Rs 64.14 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, up 249.34 per cent compared with Rs 18.36 crore in the corresponding previous quarter.
Total income during the period has increased by 23.42 per cent to Rs 244.32 crore (Rs 197.95 crore). Subhash Chandra, chairman of ZEEL, said, “Commendable performance of the flagship channel continues to drive revenue growth and margins. Zee Entertainment finished the first quarter of FY08 with robust advertising revenue growth of 47 per cent, while operating profit grew strongly by 81 per cent. We are pleased that operating margins have improved to 30.6 per cent compared with 23 per cent in the first quarter in last financial year.” The group’s consolidated net profit for the quarter ended June 30, was Rs 81.27 crore compared with Rs 53.91 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2006.
Total income has increased to Rs 412.87 crore (Rs 304.12 crore).
