NCDEX launches platinum trading20-NOV-09
The National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) today launched futures trading in platinum to widen its presence in the metal segment. A total of four contracts in platinum were offered for trading today, of which the first contract will expire next month, while the rest three in March, June and September next year, the exchange circular said.

FMC open to debate on extended trading hours28-OCT-09
The Forward Markets Commission (FMC), the commodity markets regulator, says it is willing to discuss the issue of extending trading hours, in line with what the equity markets regulator, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi), did last week. Sebi has allowed trade timing in equities to be extended, from 9 am to 5 pm; the current hours are 9:55 am to 3:30 pm.
FMC warns PXIL and its members27-OCT-09
In what could hit trading on Power Exchange of India Ltd (PXIL), the Forward Markets Commission (FMC) has warned it to cease trading in contracts beyond 11 days of payment and delivery. The FMC has also advised traders to desist from trading such contracts on PXIL.
Chhattisgarh seeks Rs 700 cr loan22-OCT-09
Chhattisgarh government will take a loan of Rs 700 crore from the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) to procure paddy in the state. The Cabinet has authorised Chhattisgarh Marketing Federation (MARKFED) to issue government instrument (bond) for securing a loan assistance of Rs 700 crore from NCDC at an interest rate of nine per cent per annum.
