Wipro: Strengthening Yardley17-NOV-09
With the acquisition of the Asia, Asia-Pacific and North Africa businesses of Yardley from the UK-based Lornamead Group, Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting (WCCL), Wipro’s FMCG arm, is ready to fast-track its business which contributes around 8 per cent to the overall revenue. It forked out $45.5 million (around Rs 210 crore) for the assets, which is a little over twice their annual revenue.

Dabur Q2 net up 30.7%27-OCT-09
FMCG firm Dabur India today reported a 30.7 per cent jump in consolidated net profit during the second quarter ended September to Rs 140.34 crore compared with Rs 107.41 crore in the corresponding period last year, driven by strong volume growth across key categories. Revenue was at Rs 855.06 crore compared with Rs 698.45 crore in the corresponding period last year, up 22.4 per cent, the company said in a statement.
