| The last Cabinet meeting lasted for just 20 minutes, of which around 15 minutes were taken up by Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni. Soni moved a proposal related to widening the digital cable TV network and Dayanidhi Maran, the textiles minister whose family runs the Sun TV network in Tamil Nadu, raised a few technical questions. In an earlier Cabinet meeting, Maran had objected to Soni’s proposal and ensured that the proposal got deferred. This time round, however, Soni had come prepared and gave an elaborate reply to Maran. With no more objections, the Cabinet passed the proposal. |
