Move to acquire farm institute opposed

The Rajasthan Agriculture University Teachers Association (RAUTA) today opposed the state government's move to acquire the Durgapura agriculture station for setting up an international convention centre, as they felt it would affect research projects and the careers of many scientists.
 
The state government's plan would destroy the sole agriculture station in the state which played an active role in the Green Revolution and established international reputed research facilities, said Swaroop Singh, president of RAUTA.
 
Besides the scientific area, 300 employees working in 20 departments would be affected.
