Alta Moda Garments, a Hyderabad-based start-up focussed on retail fashion, is set to bring 14 top line Italian brands to India soon.
Alta Moda (Italian for high fashion) has signed exclusive tie-ups with 14 Italian companies, which do not outsource their apparel and carry a true 'Made in Italy' tag on their brands.
"Unlike other Italian brands, these companies will manufacture lighter clothes customised to the Indian climate and tastes. We are also negotiating with six to seven more Italian companies whose brands will soon be added to the present product line," Manoj Saraogi, chief executive officer, Alta Moda, said today.
The brands include La Sartoria, Federico Ghidhini and Gianmario Matera suits and blazers, Mode by Simona lingerie and swimwear, Primvera International women's collants, leggings and stay-ups, Bellali, a classic clothing that concentrates mostly on very formal wear, and Nemo, a trendy high-fashion and fun clothing brand.
The products would be priced in the range of Rs 3,000-30,000 for women and Rs 5,000-50,000 for men, while accessories start from Rs 1,500.
Saraogi said the company is planning to open 50 multi-brand stores in the first year in the range of 500 sq.ft to 5,000 sq.ft in all the state capitals and major metros each entailing an investment of Rs 80 lakh. The first flagship store would be opened in Hyderabad on January 15, 2008. "Ninety per cent of the stores would be via the franchisee route. In the first year, we expect gross sales of Rs 120 crore from the stores. The chain of outlets would be scaled up to 225 in the next three years," he added. |
