Goafest: McCann, O&M among top 50 agencies
BS Reporter / Goa April 05, 2008
Mumbai's McCann Erickson and Ogilvy & Mather are in the top 50 agencies worldwide in the industry's most respected awards survey titled The Gunn Report.

Sharing the top leagues found out by The Gunn Report, its author Donald Gunn said at the Goafest 2008 today "Indian agencies have emerged as a powerful creative force within Asia. In the rest of the world, they are being viewed anticipation and people at the Cannes advertising festival are expecting better work to come out of the industry."

Prasoon Joshi, chairman and regional executive creative director McCann Erickson -Asia Pacific said "Our performance worldwide has been enhanced further with the success of our campaign for Happy Dent. The sales of this product went up considerably following it. We are confident of some of the work we have done for Reebok in some of the international awards to follow later this year. In Goafest, we haven't participated this year but we will see if we can participate later."

Some of the other award winning Indian performers were in the print advertisement space like Grey Worldwide, EURO RSCG and Lowe India.

The Gunn Report team also did a survey on whether award winning commercials really sell? The report found that out of the 400 award winning commercials surveyed, 86.5% led to market place success. Taking the example of Happy Dent, following McCann's campaign, Perfetti had to add production capacities to serve demand generated by it.
