In a global first, professional networking website LinkedIn on Tuesday announced the launch of localised products for the Indian market.

LinkedIn, with a global membership of 135 professionals, has 13 million users in India. In India, it is rolling out localised solutions for services like LinkedIn Recruiter, which will allow Indian recruiters to search and target profiles. Other offerings include Jobs Network, Work with us Ads, Targeted Recruitment Ads and Talent Direct. All these will have differentiated India pricing.

"The India-specific solutions are on the basis of feedback from clients over the last two years. So far, LinkedIn had one global offering, but clients in India wanted to access local talent. The growth being experienced by Indian firms in the domestic market needs to be complemented with the right talent," said Irfan Abdulla, head of hiring solutions at LinkedIn India.

He added that many recruiters wanted to conduct India-targeted campaigns for attracting talent.

For them, these localised tools and solutions would bring focus to their approach. LinkedIn is working with firms like Wipro and HCL Technologies for new solutions.

Industrial sectors that have evinced interest in India-focused solutions include information technology, engineering and manufacturing.

Abdulla added that this is for the first time the pricing of these solutions is different and tailored to the local requirement.

"The price of some offerings would be 30-40 per cent lower than the global ones," he said.

LinkedIn Talent Pipeline enables recruiters to manage all their talent in one place. LinkedIn Career Pages, a one-stop virtual destination, allows companies to build a brand among prospective candidates. Targeted Recruiting Advertising enables recruiters to reach candidates according to skill, location and experience.

In India, LinkedIn hiring solutions are used by a companies like ING Vysya, Genpact, Biocon, Wal-Mart , HCL Technologies and L&T Infotech.
