    Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that roads and drainage system will be developed in all unauthorised colonies in the national capital within the next two years.

    which is also gearing up for the Delhi municipal polls scheduled to be held next year.

    The government's move will benefit lakhs of people living in such colonies who are considered a major vote bank of the Aam Aadmi Party

    There are about 1,750 unauthorised colonies which lack proper roads and drainage system.

    In March last year, the Delhi government had issued direction to finalise boundaries of 1,650 unauthorised colonies in the city out of which around 895 have been regularised by the Centre.
