    Devendra Jhajharia created history by becoming the first Indian to win two gold medals at the Paralympics

    Jhajharia had won Gold for India in 2004 at Athens, before today’s win at the Rio Paralympics. At the Olympic Stadium in Rio, Jhajharia set a new record in Javelin throw with 63.97 metres

    He became the first Paralympian to receive the honour.

    Jhajharia has an amputated left hand, and was presented with the Arjuna award in the year 2004 and the Padma Shri in 2012.
