| Well Mr Jaiswal, May i know the reason if you can explain to say it will be double ? In any case stock split 1:7 on 21 Sep 09. As on today trading at Rs 18 only. Now if i purchase then what will be level after 2-3 months ? As per your statement on 12 Oct for double, seems gone wrong. If you still stick on this please do leave msg here or send on my mail. I will be looking for you. Thanks | |

Do you plan to hold the stock and buy more on declines?

| Ajay Parmar represents a breed of leaders who have strong conviction on their fundamental bets and their future outlook but at the same time use clear SL triggers to get out when markets move violently. He is since back with his conviction buys- Torrent Pharma, sterlite Tech, Greaves & Orbit after having exited them on account of SL trigger. We now have a intresting fight b/w Amar and Ajay with 2 following divergent stock picking models to reach the top of the race. let the best man win :) | |

| Vaidhya,
It is actually you who need to get the calculations right. I have churned my portfolio just like Amar Ambani. I started in 15th July. Whenever I calcuate the profit I always include 1% brokerage (icicidirect) which I actually pay to icici direct demat account. Remember this happens both while buying and selling as well. So if u buy one stock and sell it you would have paid 2% at the transaction rates. I have paid so far INR 100,000 as brokerages and made INR150,000 profit

| Pls get ur calculations straight. Brokerage cost of 0.1% cannot wipe off gains. In that case u should also pay 3-6% pa interest to the fund manager for keeping cash which he could have invested in liquid funds. U can show post tax return also. u csn allow short selling also. A lot can be done but remember this is a game not real life. They are only supposed to guide us. | |

| The portfolios should include brokerage costs also as the current format is disadvantageous to players who are not active fund managers. Mr. Amar who churns his portfolio so much might not even show gains, if a brokerage of 0.1-0.2% per transactions are included! | |

| Dear Bhaskar,
Ambani sold Punj Lloyd at Rs 249, the stock open and high was Rs 256 on NSE on October 26. Since the price feeds are slightly delayed on our website, Ambani was able to sell the stock at higher price despite a faster fall in actual market.
Secondly, Parmar had bought TV18 at Rs 85 on October 12 via rights issue. The same was been updated on our website the very day.

| Why isn't the brokerage costs included in the analysis? An actively managed portfolio like that of Amar will have much reduced returns if brokerage costs are included. Also how do you account for slippage. for example- selling Punj at 249 today would have been impossible due to a gap down! | |

| There is some problem. How can Mr Ambani sell the stock at 249 when it has never quoted this price today ?
Similar case when Mr. Parmar bought TV18 at 85 on 12 October. The stock never quoted at that price on that date.
A clarification from modertor will be welcome

| Smart portfolio-2 is really turning out to be a battle of biggies and their ideas and the best theme that any business news paper has launched in the recent past. What is interesting to note is that all the big guns have become very quiet in the past 4 days with no buy and sell happening. in case of Ajay it looks like he is fully invested and hence unable to add more into portfolio without shuffling his portfolio. Amar has been smart in getting into good cash so as to pick good stocks at bargain | |

| Dear Sir,
It seems that you are more interested in Buying Technology related share. If u are already an investor then np or else pls diversify your portfolio. As per your question i suggest to stay away from both the share at present level. But sure buy RCOM after another 20-30 Rs fall. If you are long term inv. then must buy RPOWER. Presently you can buy Infra/Reality sector stocks. Unitech DLF Era Inf. etc are good one. In mid cap you can have Powersoft, Gemini Com. Good Luck
