With this the company is eligible to seek MRP (Mutual Recognition Procedure) approval with other EU member states and PICS (Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme) member countries like Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

This is the third facility of Micro Labs to be approved by UK-MHRA, the other two being a Beta-lactam facility at Bangalore and a Solid Dosage form facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.

According to a senior company official, the Goa unit is automated and the plant has a capacity to produce 2 billion units annually on a single shift basis. This unit produces solid dosage forms comprising of tablets and hard gelatin capsules.
