American Bollworm Pest May Hit Cotton Output

Emergence of the dreaded American bollworm pest in large parts of the northern cotton belt of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan has jeopardised prospects of a record cotton harvest this year.

Krishi Bhawan has asked the agriculture departments of these states to keep a close watch on the build-up and further spread of the pest and launch integrated pest management (IPM) measures to check crop damage.
