Markets extend gains in noon trades
Markets have extended gains. The Sensex has touched a high of 16,088. Th index is now up 131 points at 16,067.
The IT index has jumped 2.5% to 4,971. Auto and healthcare indices are also up.
Infosys has gained 2.6% at Rs 2,465. Wipro has added 2.5% to Rs 653. TCS has moved up 2% to Rs 738.
ACC and Grasim have added 2.5% each to Rs 864 and Rs 2,621 on news that cement prices will not come down soon.
Auto stocks are in the green. Hero Honda has advanced 1.7% to Rs 1,611. Tata Motors has added 1.6% to Rs 684. Mahindra & Mahindra is also up.
The other gainers include Bharti Airtel, Tata Power and Sun Pharma.
On the other hand, DLF has slipped 1.7% to Rs 306.
The BSE market breadth is positive. Out of 2,738 stocks traded, 57% have advanced while 40% have declined.
