Small Rise In Sugar Output

Sugar production in the month of December 2002, the third month of the sugar year, was about 35.39 lakh tonnes as against 34.98 lakh tonnes during the same month of last year. This brings the total output during the October-September season to 51.59 lakh tonnes as against 56.55 lakh tonnes during the corresponding period of last season.
