The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) sensex settled 22.91 points lower at 3,256.86 on Monday, as fears of a US-Iraq war continued to haunt the market.

Sustained weakness in the US markets pushed technology stocks lower. Other heavyweight blue-chip stocks also remained weak as investors refrained from taking fresh positions.

Meanwhile, at the National Stock Exchange, the S&P CNX Nifty index shed 8.90 points to close at 1,048.60.
