The opposition parties have questioned the passing of the supplementary budget alleging that the state government has failed to spend the money allocated in the annual budget. The departments have spent merely 25-30 per cent of the Rs.16,300 crore budget, they alleged.
The supplementary budget was passed without discussion as the opposition parties were demanding constitution of a committee to look into the displacement issue of Panem coal mines in Pakur district.
The supplementary budget was tabled Friday by Deputy Chief Minister Hemant Soren who is in charge of the finance department.
