AIUDF asks for road projects in Barak Valley
Members of AIUDF Cachar district committee submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi through the deputy commissioner in this regard.
AIDUF MLA from Katigorah Ataur Rehman Mazarbhuiya, who is also the president of the AIUDF district committee, said that the government had not initiated any step to meet the communication problem of the valley despite repeated pleas.
The party had lodged a series of movements at different times on the issue but no positive step has yet been taken.
He demanded immediate repair of roads from Sadarghat to Kashipur and Silchar to Lailapur and suitable action against Border Roads Task Force authorities for not completing work as per the schedule.
The party has also demanded construction of alternative bridges at Gamon, Sadarghat and Ghumra.
Besides, AIUDF has also asked for repair of Silchar
