Alert Metro driver foils suicide bid
As soon as the train entered Jatin Das Park station at around 7:00 PM, septuagenarian S S Mukherjee jumped from the platform on to the tracks.
The alert driver immediately applied emergency brakes and brought the train to a halt, Metro DGM Protyush Ghosh said.
Mukherjee has been admitted to SSKM Hospital with injuries on head and shoulder.
