Pak Air Force jet crashes; pilot safe

The Mirage V jet crashed in Sonmiani area in Balochistan shortly after taking off from Masroor airbase in Karachi, officials said.

Media reports said the jet went into a tailspin before crashing.

PAF officials said the pilot was safe. Authorities ordered an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.
