The Institute plans to organise functions of this kind every year on World Tourism Day and Sharma has decided to identify one state as the theme each year. Sharma firmly believes the flow of tourists to even the most breathtaking spots in the world would improve if a good marketing mix is prepared. In keeping with this view, another strategy Winter Paradise has been worked out. The plan is expected to attract international tourists to the hills even at the height of winter which is otherwise seen as an off-season.
The concepts formulated by the institute are expected to help the country make a different, stronger impact at the India evening show at the World Tourism Mart next month.
Every sector related to the travel industry is represented at the Mart, including tour operators, tourist organisations, insurance, banking and other travel-related services, travel technology besides senior executives of the hospitality industry. If the show, which has been planned as a refreshing change from the past, catches the eye of even a section of the tourism industry executives who throng the Mart, Sharma is keeping his fingers crossed, the country needs to gear up to welcome a deluge of tourists soon.
