Dell India today launched its portfolio of services offerings as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications for large enterprises, small and medium businesses and the public sector.

The applications provide customers with cloud-based applications that help simplify and automate IT management and reduce overall IT costs, country general manager for Dell India, Sameer Garde, told reporters here. The applications add cloud-based IT services to the existing consulting, support and managed service capabilities under Dell Services, a new organisation recently formed by the acquisition of Perot Systems.

Dell said these SaaS applications help businesses lower total cost of ownership of their infrastructure with fewer dedicated staff while reducing complexity of the operations, by introducing various remote-based and tool-based services solutions.

“CIOs are struggling to reduce cost and complexity while maintaining expensive legacy systems and processes.”

With Dell’s new services IT can leverage SaaS to solve key issues around distributed device management, remote infrastructure monitoring, and business continuity and compliance,” Garde said. Dell announced a portfolio of new SaaS applications across three key IT infrastructure management — client device management, remote infrastructure monitoring and continuity and compliance management.
