| Godrej Industries Q4 net drops 17% |
| Godrej Industries has registered a 17 per cent decline in its net profit at Rs 30.32 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005 compared with Rs 36.44 crore during the corresponding quarter in previous year. |
| Total income grew by 24 per cent at Rs 220.68 crore for the current quarter against Rs178.15 crore during the similar quarter in the previous year. Earnings per share for the current quarter stood at Rs 6.23 compared with Rs 7.49 in the previous year's similar quarter. |
| Net profit for the year ended March 31, 2005 increased 16 per cent to Rs 75.75 crore compared with Rs 65.11 crore in the previous year. Total income grew by 12 per cent at Rs 818.27 crore for the current year against Rs 733.55 crore in the previous year. |
| The consolidated net profit for the current year grew by 13 per cent at Rs 64.83 crore against Rs 57.38 crore during the previous year. Total conolidated income grew by 9 per cent at Rs 1,993.91 crore for the current year compared with Rs 1,833.64 crore in the previous year. The company has declared a final dividend of Rs 4 per share. |
| Hindware Q4 net up 59% |
| Hindustan Sanitaryware & Industries (Hindware) reported a 59 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 11.84 crore in the fourth quarter of 2004-05 compared with Rs 7.43 crore in the corresponding period previous fiscal. Gross sales during January-March 2004-05 quarter rose 30.88 per cent to Rs 110.96 crore against Rs 84.78 crore in the year ago period. |
| Phyto Chem slips into red |
| Phyto Chem (India), which manufactures pesticides, insecticides and other related products, incurred a net loss of Rs 15.88 lakh in fourth quarter in 2004-05 compared with a net loss of Rs 13.71 lakh in the corresponding period of the previous year. |
| Net sales, however, increased by 23 per cent to Rs 2.68 crore (Rs 2.16 crore) during the same period. For the year ended 2004-05, the company recorded a 34 per cent growth in its net profit at Rs 22.86 lakh from Rs 16.94 lakh. Net sales also increased by 57 per cent at Rs 14.60 crore from Rs 9.28 crore in 2003-04. |
| TVS posts Rs 48 cr profit in Q4 |
| TVS Motor Company recorded a net profit of Rs 47.92 crore and net sales of Rs 718.27 crore in the fourth quarter of 2004-05. The governing board has declared a second interim dividend of 60 per cent on equity shares, each with a face value of Re 1. |
| The first interim dividend stood at 70 per cent. The previous year's figures for the fourth quarter are not comparable because the entire fiscal's results of the erstwhile operations of Lakshmi Auto Components were included in that quarter. |
| For 2004-05, the net profit stood at Rs 137.57 crore, marginally lower than the previous year's net profit of Rs 138.49 crore. Net sales for 2004-05 stood at Rs 2,876 crore, higher by 1.97 per cent in relation to the previous year's net sales of Rs 2,820 crore. |
| RSP posts Rs 1045 cr net in FY05 |
| Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP,) an unit of Steel Authority of India (SAIL), has posted a net profit of Rs. 1045 crores in 2004-05. This profit is not only the highest profit earned by the steel plant since its inception but is also higher than the sum total of the profits earned during all the previous years put together. |
| The segment revenue (or total revenue earned) of the steel plant, which reached an all time high of Rs 4,821 crore, represents a growth of more than 22 per cent over the previous fiscal. RSP had last made a net profit ten years ago in 1994-95. |
