Former BJP member and chairman of Observer Research Foundation Sudheendra Kulkarni on Monday, announced the launch of 'Gandhi-Edhi campaign', aimed at promoting peace between India and Pakistan, while paying rich tributes to the Pakistani philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi.
Edhi died in Karachi on July 8.
ORF had organised a programme here to pay tributes to the legendary philanthropist.
"Edhi sahab was one of the greatest humanitarians of our time and today we pay homage to him. He belonged to Pakistan, to India and was a great representative of humanity," Kulkarni said.
"In remembering Edhi sahab we should also resolve to work for peace between India and Pakistan. It's for this reason today we are launching the campaign," he said.
